Bio

Przemyslaw received his Master's (2011) and  PhD (2014) degrees from Waseda University (Tokyo, Japan), where he researched on locomotion control of Humanoid robots at Takanishi Laboratory

He joined Advanced Robotics Department of IIT in 2014 where he works on locomotion control of Humanoids COMAN and WALK-MAN. Starting from January 2015, Przemyslaw was a lead developer of locomotion controllers used during the Darpa Robotic Challange by team WALK-MAN.  His expertise includes, but is not limited to: 

  • Development of high level locomotion and stabilization control algorithms. 
  • Implementation of the algorithms on the full-size humanoid platforms:  COMAN, WALK-MAN, KOBIAN, WABIAN and SABIAN
  • Whole system debugging towards successful impelmentation of locomotion control (e.g. mechanical design and assembly, electronics and power supply systems, high and low level software).

Przemyslaw's interests cover all aspects of bipedal robots locomotion, such as dynamic gait planning, stability control, state estimation etc. He is also interested in model based control, optimization techniques, distributed control systems and mechatronic systems in general.
